Speed painting lessons
With the success of my 45 minute painting challenge I have decided to do some lessons on how to create something similar yourselves. It has been very helpful to my painting journey because it has allowed me to take risks and make mistakes that can turn out to be interesting and happy accidents. The main reason for doing these challenges was to speed up my painting and loosen up more so I am not so fixated on the small details as much.
I will be teaching how to start and finish a painting to an outcome that might not be to everyones liking but as the challenge suggests, it is a time based challenge and be ready to accept what ever the outcome might be. Sometimes we like the outcome, sometimes we don't, the challenge really is learning what is wrong with it and improving in the next painting.

Things you will need for this lesson,
- Acrylics (as the dry quickly and we can't be hanging around waiting for the paint to dry!) Dark brown, Blue, Red, White, Yellow.
- A surface to paint on (cardboard, card, mountboard, paper if you wish, canvas?) Preferrably small in size around 7x5 inches.
- Brushes! fairly big brushes to be exact. Flat and round ended. You may use one small brush for details like eyes and nose etc.
- A container of water to wash your brushes.
- A old cloth or kitchen paper to dry your brushes.
- A palette, this can be a professional palette, an old plate, a wide plastic container with damp kitchen roll and baking paper on top (this keeps the paint wet for long and the method I use.)
